Abhainn Dubh-Chatharaigh

River Dubh-Chatharaigh, towards Seana Bhraigh

Bha mi air cluinntinn – neo dhà-rireabh air leugadh mu eas. Eas sònraichte math. Eas sàmhach, a-mach anns an fhàsaich.

Dh’fheuman tadhal air.

Cha do thaghadh mi an latha as fhearr, an deidh oidhche air an deoch, agus a’ tòiseachadh an cuairt aig uair feasgar…

An deidh coiseachd còrr is dà uair a thìde, agus mi air mo chall fad leth-uair de sin, thachair mi air eas.

All hail Maclean

Cha b’e seo m’eas idir, cha b’e seo fìus Abhainn Dubh-Chatharaigh.

Deoch an donais.

Yes, Dubh-Chatharaigh

Mu dheireadh thall, ruig mi Dubh-Chatharaigh.

Uisge dorcha, a’ lùbadh gu socair tron Ghleann, dathan an Fhoghair air gach taobh, fraoch ruadh, mar gur robh e loisgte.

Summer never came but Autumn wasn’t shy

Beagan astar a’ coiseachd air bruach na h-aibhne agus chuala mi e.

Eas àlainn, a’ dortadh thairis nan creagan, a’ tuiteam tuilleadh is fichead meatair gu glumag aig a bhonn.

The well-known lone pine on the river stack barely hanging on

Cha b’e ruith ach leum gus faighinn sios chun glumag, agus snàmh ann. (Ged-tà, cha do leum mi sios…an turas seo co-dhiubh…)

River monster

Ged a b’e a chiad latha den t-Samhain, bha an t-uisge gu math doigheil.

Cha robh e blàth. Ach bha e math.

Water snake? No. 10s exposure

An dèidh toiseachadh ainmoch…agus beagan de bhuaidh na dibhe air mo chuir cearr sa mhadainn, cha robh agam ach ùine ghoirid gus snàmh.

Bha goirid, ach bha gasta.

Tillidh mi ann.

Detroit, I shall return.
